Sales

From the first lead to the renewal, and the till in between.

Odoo's sales apps follow a customer all the way: leads on a pipeline in CRM, quotations and orders in Sales, recurring contracts in Subscriptions, the shop counter or restaurant floor in Point of Sale, and rentals with dates and returns. They share records with inventory and invoicing, so a signed quote does not have to be re-entered anywhere.

CRM and Sales are separate apps in Odoo. CRM tracks opportunities; Sales turns them into quotations, orders and invoices.

What it does

Selling that leaves a clean trail.

Selling goes wrong in the gaps: a lead nobody followed up, a quote that never reached the warehouse, a renewal nobody noticed. Odoo's sales apps are built to close those gaps by keeping each step in one database.

01A pipeline you can read
Each opportunity is a card with its key details, grouped by stage in a Kanban view, with the expected revenue of each stage shown. Cards move as the deal does.
02Follow-ups that plan themselves
Calls, meetings, mailings and quotations are scheduled as activities, and the next one can be planned automatically from your sales script.
03Quotes in two clicks
Create a quotation from the product catalogue, from a template for your common orders, with the right prices and taxes for each customer.
04Customers act for themselves
A portal lets customers see their quotations, orders and deliveries, and pay or sign online.
05Recurring revenue, automated
Subscriptions handle renewals, invoices, taxes and payments, so the team spends its time on the customer relationship.
06Shop and restaurant, same database
Point of Sale runs the till, online and offline, and feeds the same stock, accounting and loyalty records as everything else.

Leads and opportunities, on one pipeline

Find the leads worth your time and move them to a quote.

  • Each opportunity is a card with its key details, grouped by stage in a Kanban view, with each stage's expected revenue.
  • Schedule calls, meetings, mailings and quotations as activities; the next one is planned automatically from the sales script.
  • Incoming emails are added to the pipeline, so team and customer contact sits in one place.
  • Automation creates leads, assigns them to teams and schedules activities.
  • AI lead scoring ranks leads so the team works on the right priorities.
  • Revenue forecasts, team performance analysis and custom dashboards come from the same data.
What you’re looking at

A card is a deal

Drag a card from one stage to the next as the deal moves. The stage totals change with it, so the forecast is always the current pipeline.

A worked example

One order, from a lead to a paid invoice.

A single order followed through the apps, built from what Odoo's pages say each app does. It is an illustration, not a promise of any particular configuration.

  1. Lead arrivesAn enquiry lands on the pipeline and is scored.
  2. Quote sentA quotation is made from the catalogue and sent to the customer.
  3. Customer signsThe customer signs or pays from the portal.
  4. Goods leaveThe confirmed order drives the delivery from stock.
  5. Invoice goes outThe invoice is created from the order and followed until paid.

Illustrative. A real project decides which of these steps are automatic and who approves each one.

Questions

Straight answers.

What is the difference between CRM and Sales?

CRM tracks leads and opportunities through a pipeline. Sales creates quotations, takes orders and drives delivery and invoicing. They are separate apps that share the same records, and CRM can create quotations from an opportunity.

Can customers sign and pay online?

Yes. Odoo's Sales page describes a customer portal where customers view quotations, orders and deliveries and can pay or sign online.

Does Point of Sale work without internet?

Odoo's pages say payments made offline sync automatically when the connection returns, and that the restaurant register can be used offline. Confirm the exact behaviour for your devices during design.

Is there a separate restaurant version?

Odoo describes Point of Sale for restaurants on its own page, with floor plans, kitchen displays and delivery-app orders, alongside the shop version.

Can I rent products out and take bookings online?

Yes. Rental handles pricing by hour, week, month or year and, with eCommerce, lets customers reserve dates and check out on your website.

Which payment terminals and couriers are supported?

Odoo's pages mention terminals and couriers but do not name them. We would list the ones you need at the start of a project and check them against Odoo's current documentation.
