Claude

Hand Claude a task, not just a question.

Claude is Anthropic's app for everyday work, on the web, desktop and mobile. It answers questions, but its real use at work is delegation: say what you need as you would to a colleague, point it at the files and tools involved, and it works out the steps, asks when it needs you, and hands back an editable document, spreadsheet, deck or dashboard for you to review and sign off.

Claude Cowork and chat are now one app: Anthropic says Cowork's ability to work across your files and tools comes in automatically when a task needs it.

What it does

Give Claude more than a question.

Anthropic's own description of the change: from asking for an answer to handing over a task, a tangled idea or a big project.

01Take tasks off your desk
Mine data, pull information together or make a first draft, and get time back to make the call.
02Turn ideas into something real
Bring a half-formed idea and get back a deck, a working prototype, a financial model or a draft you can edit and put your name on.
03Work that keeps going
Long tasks run after you close the laptop, several tasks run in parallel, and scheduled tasks repeat on a cadence you choose.
04In the tools you use
Connectors bring in your apps, and Claude works inside Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Chrome and Slack.
05It remembers how you work
Projects, memory and instructions keep context; skills repeat a procedure your way every time.
06You keep the final say
Changes appear as tracked edits in Word and highlighted cells in Excel; Claude can show its plan and wait for approval, and by default asks before permanently deleting files.

Delegate the work, review the result

Claude works in the folders and tools you choose.

  • Claude works directly in the folders and tools you allow and delivers finished work for review, with no copying from a chat into files.
  • It shows each step as it goes: the files it opens, the tools it uses and the choices it makes, so you can redirect it.
  • Tasks keep running when you close your laptop; start one from your phone and check in from anywhere.
  • Schedule a task for any cadence and it runs unattended: daily, weekly or monthly reports, close work, reviews.
  • Big projects are split into chunks that run together, so research and drafting happen at once.
  • A built-in browser handles web steps in a side panel, separate from your own browser and logins.
What you’re looking at

Say what, not how

Anthropic's line: tell Claude what you need, not how to do it. It opens a browser for web tasks and takes over the screen only when it has to.

A day with Claude

One working day, handed over in pieces.

Built from Anthropic's own examples of how people use Claude. An illustration, not a promise of any particular set-up.

  2. 10:00Prep for a client call: account history from the CRM.
  3. 12:00Customer feedback grouped into themes and tied to the roadmap.
  4. 14:00A contract checked against the playbook and marked up.
